"...he brought us a song he likes. His favorite. We tried playing it on the guitar and another girl in the group knew how to play it and others gathered around her and we sang it, laughing and interrupting... but it was for him and he was smiling. So we greeted A. and he came up to me with a conspiratorial look and said: "Sukran, madam", meaning "Thank you". Testimony of a patient child in the Hospital

"Thank you for filling our afternoons with joy and music. What I will remember from this group is the opportunity you gave me to express feelings and emotions I hadn't even heard out of my own voice, I hadn't realized them... thank you!"

The most powerful moment I have experienced was in an intervention where the beneficiaries were children seperated from their families under court orders. I was impressed when I saw that the older children were tenderly helping the younger ones. Then I realized that even though they were also children, they needed to have the role of a parent. We are here to bring joy where there is a need, so the world will become a little more beautiful. Volunteer Angel testimony

I'm always surprised, going from one room to another, watching the elderly struggling to hold on to the present moment and to joy. I'm glad we are a part of their chance to feel happy. Niki, musician at the Care Units for the Elderly

''What I saw with my own eyes... They offer a training program (and not event) that is not simply artistic nor is it just educational or solely humanitarian. It is all of those combined. ''
Alexis Kokkos, Professor of Adult Education at the Hellenic Open University and President of the Scientific Association of Adult Education
''We went to an Elderly Care Unit and a lady there seemed quite distressed. I went over to her and tried to cheer her up. Then, she grabbed my hand tightly and until we left she didn't let go for a moment. At that moment I understood the need for these people to feel that we were still there for them!

My decision to volunteer with the ''Angels of Joy'' was the result of my need to share powerful experiences and emotions with those in need. I love Αrt and was fascinated by the idea that I would be joining this beautiful journey of volunteering.

“Bless you "Angels of Joy"! This warmth, these smiles, this kind-heartedness that you generously offer to all the children with everything you do every day for them… I don't know if a lifetime is enough for all our good wishes to reach you.

"....(the elderly) danced the whole song, holding hands, with gentle movements and notated steps, and I was amazed to see the future resting with confidence upon the past, and the past looking to the future with joy and optimism."

Participating in "Bygone Athens" I see the love, enthusiasm and truth of the volunteers and Christina and this makes me feel safe and happy. I feel exactly the same with the response of the participants and this makes me want to continue!!!
